We're fundraising for Leukaemia Foundation

Jo and Zoe are  joining Bloody Mission’s Vertical 5km Challenge to push harder than ever — not for distance, but for impact. We’ll be climbing 5,000 vertical metres — for the Leukaemia Foundation. Why? 
Zoe's husband, Zak was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2022 when he was 23 years old and their son was 7 month. He endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, top up cell transplants and an enormous amount of time spent in hospital, not to mention last year when he was in a coma for 2 weeks following septic pneumonia. Zak was given a less than 10% chance of survival. 
Zak is now nearly 2 years in remission and enjoying spending time with his family and newest edition (11 month old Ava). This fundraiser hits close to home for the TVH family and we want to give back to the organization who supported Zoe and her family through one of their toughest battles (funding their move to Melbourne for 4 months for Zaks treatment in 2023, and countless other supports).  

Right now, over 170,000 Aussie families are facing blood cancer, and 16 lives are lost each day. It’s a hidden crisis that demands action. We’re raising funds so families can access the emotional and practical support they urgently need — and to fuel research that brings us closer to a world where blood cancer no longer takes lives.
